Im not a good gardener. But this year, after having a successful attempt at making compost mix, I've had good luck with some container plants. It's really a pain to have to go out and BUY dirt. I really suggest a compost bin if you can. Making your own fresh and nutritious dirt makes a huge difference.
This little strawberry plant started to produce runners. Im such a noob that I had no idea what they were. After a little researching, I learned that you could plant those little runners into some dirt, let them root for a few weeks, and you'll have a new strawberry plant. I don't know if we'll get fruit this year. Thats ok, though.
Maker sure you anchor them into the dirt with some kind of wire, and they should just really only be sitting on top of the dirt.
This is a tiered basket I bought for fruit, but it never got used properly. So I'm starting to plant little succulents into it. There's lots of links through Pinterest.
Kitty likes sleeping among the pots.
... I'll add some more images and updates later...
